Through this partnership, we are seeking local talent like you to represent the diverse tech workforce of tomorrow.

The Synchrony Foundation is providing full-tuition sponsorship for accepted applicants to go through General Assembly’s Virtual Software Engineering Immersive (SEI).

Accepted applicants will receive 12 weeks of virtual, instructor-led, full-time training.

  • Technical Experience: Learn to build scalable, full-stack web applications using programming languages like Java and React, and develop a strong foundation in front-end development.
  • Professional Development: During the course, GA’s team of expert instructors teaches critical skills and provides ongoing student performance feedback that helps guide participants to success.
  • Career Coaching and Employment: Graduates of GA’s immersive programs receive career support, access to GA’s hiring network and support from a career coach.

The program dates for this course are March 7th—May 27th, 2022.
Class runs Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m (meets virtually).

There will be opportunities for the students and instructors to come together in-person over the course of the 12-weeks for networking (dates will be shared with those selected).

Synchrony Skills Academy will provide the technology needed for the duration of the course. Students will be allowed to use the Skills Academy located in Stamford if they need a place to take the virtual course.

The Synchrony Foundation is offering a limited number of fully-sponsored seats to General Assembly’s Virtual Software Engineering Immersive program, providing a unique opportunity for aspiring engineers to break into Connecticut's tech ecosystem.

This partnership reflects Synchrony’s commitment to championing diversity and inclusion at all levels by elevating aspiring engineers — like you — into meaningful careers in the world’s fastest-growing industries.

To Be Eligible for This Sponsored Training, You Must Meet the Following Criteria:

  • You are at least 18 years of age.
  • You are a Connecticut state resident.
  • You are currently (or will be) fully vaccinated from Covid-19 by February 11, 2022. We will have in-person networking opportunities and an in-person onboarding and tech pick up – vaccines are required to come to the Academy.
  • Your individual income for the year 2021 is under $40,000.

We highly encourage candidates from underrepresented communities to apply, particularly Black, Hispanic, and Native Americans, women, and individuals with disabilities.

2. Phone Screen

Within 24–72 hours, you will receive an email or phone call from a GA team member to explain the Admissions process, learn about your background and discuss if the course is a good fit for you.

3. Technical Assignment

After your phone screen, you will need to complete a guided coding challenge to assess your technical knowledge and skill level going into the program.

5. Pre-Course Work and Readiness Assessment

You will need to complete ~10 hours of precourse material and take a readiness assessment prior to enrollment into this course.

4. Interview with an Admissions Producer

You’ll interview with GA’s Admissions team. We’ll discuss your personal and professional goals, prior experience and skills, and your interest in the program.
