About General Assembly

The Jessica Vollman Foundation was founded to continue the legacy of the late Jessica “Jess” Vollman —  one of GA’s first employees and the former Director of New Market Expansion. While at GA, Jess worked to develop the company’s market strategy, managed launch operations, and strategic partnerships, enabling the company to scale from a startup with a handful of employees to a thriving global organization with 700 employees across 14 cities. Her experience at GA was fundamental in shaping her personal mission: to empower women entrepreneurs through globalization and by making education more accessible.

Most recently, Jess served as CEO of Fluent City, a language company specializing in AI natural language processing technology. She additionally founded The Vollman Group in 2016 to help startups scale company operations internationally through strategy, marketing, and consistent customer experience. As a passionate leader for women in business, Jess was a mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation, Gerson Lehrman Group, and London School of Economics Generate Program. She also served on the Board of Advisors for Re:Coded and became a founding member of Chief.
The Jessica Vollman Foundation is run by her family in order to encourage women’s advancement in the global economy and continue Jess’ personal mission. In her own words, “For anyone debating taking the leap, don’t be afraid of the challenges that may come. If I can do it, you can do it.”

JVF will have funding opportunities available for women entrepreneurs in the NYC area who want to take their business to the next level through training and development. If you are a passionate individual with a vision and an entrepreneurial spirit, then complete the form above to learn more about JVF’s opportunities.
