This track is for junior developers with ~1 year experience who are excited to learn Java and launch their career as Java engineers. The next program launches on September 16, 2019 in New York.
In the Java Developer program, dive into 11 (eleven) weeks of full-time training and learn foundational skills to build a 12-factor cloud application. Skills taught include Spring MVC, Tomcat, Maven, SQL, DevOps, React, REST API design, Hibernate, jUnit, Agile/Scrum methodologies, Platform as a Service (Heroku), version control with Git.

Training Track #1: Become a Java Developer
We are looking for mid-level Java engineers with 4+ years relevant experience to apply. The next programs launch on September 16, 2019 in New York and Chicago and last 6 (six) weeks.
In the Senior Full-Stack Engineer program, you will dive into six weeks of full-time training at GA and learn how to architect and deploy full-stack, 12-factor applications on IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service). Skills taught include Spring Boot, Redis, Swagger, RabbitMQ, Designing Cloud-Native Infrastructure, Infrastructure as a Service (AWS), Provisioning Servers.

Cognizant has partnered with General Assembly to offer a free, exclusive training opportunity to help build your skills and land your next engineering role. There are two training tracks you can apply for depending on your level of experience. Both programs are fully sponsored by Cognizant and free of charge. Upon graduation, you will be fast-tracked to interview for a role as a Java Developer or a Senior Fullstack Engineer at Cognizant.
1. Technical Assessment
After a successful interview, you’ll take a short technical online assessment to gauge your suitability for this program.
2. Admissions Interview
You’ll interview with GA’s Admissions team. You’ll discuss your analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills as well as experience and interest in the program.
4. Acceptance
If you pass steps 1–4, you’ll be invited to enroll in the free, full-time training program at GA’s NYC or Chicago campuses.
3. Profile Review
General Assembly and Cognizant Engineering Managers will review your resume and application to confirm this program is the right fit for you.
